An old war but a new way to fight it

I am here to give you a lesson on a game you may want to play if you are a strategy fan. Now this is the one game that hands down no questions asked you should get even if it means updating you machine, this game is Company of Heroes. This is the most strategy oriented game I have ever played. I mean if a tank comes rolling up on a platoon of soldiers, kill your guys gonners cause they do nothing to tanks unless they got some things up their sleeves. Every aspect of the game is thought out, If you send in a small army to take a certain position you will think before each click of the mouse.

Let me give you an example of what has happened to me lately. I was hoping to get in some COH for fun, but about 10 minutes in I was enthralled with it, my fault forgetting how great the game was. I had sent some guys out to capture, they were sent out pretty far on the map but it was needed for the war machine. Then the enemy started to come rushing in and chaos was at mist across the battlefield, my ally was trying to hold but I sent out my scouting troops to help defend the losing recourses. My guys made it to a recourse spot and helped defended but I decided I needed to bring them back all the way into my base. Too late, the main road in was incomplete turmoil and the chance of people getting through was slow so I made then bunker up in a small fenced in area. With the help of airborne drops it soon became a very cozy spot, so cozy that it turned into a our froward base when the war started to settle a bit and our lines weren't buckling so much. I had noticed that a small anti-tank weapon had set up across from me and was blasting anything that went by it, so first I sweeped the area with mortar's. I had built a small force in which was standing by to take the weapon, when the order came their treads spun and feet took off. The anti-tank gun took out one of the supporting tanks but we were able to take the gun with it still in tacked. I noticed my allie was pushing forward, and this allowed my army to start pushing forward itself. This seemed to be the path to victory, which it was but in the middle of heated battle where my forces were taking some important unit creation centers I heard the sound all allie's hate, the sound of screaming rockets and red smoke around your guys for which you scramble out of their but is never early enough and rockets start to draw small craters in the ground for which my men used to stand. This last courages act by my enemy was able to halt me but his fate had been sealed so it was not enough to let our team win.

All this in just one game happened, its the kinda game were you plan out what could have been done better, or make you write post about. If you can play it, buy it the only fault I found with it was that it seemed to have a much to low unit cap but with all the strategy I guess its a good thing.

Total War: Rome II

Total War: Rome II  So it took almost 2 years but I think I finally like this game. It's amazing to me because Rome Total War probably up there in most played game. The hours I have put into the game, and the nights spent trying to take over the known world are so many.  The memory of playing the demo for the first time sticks in my brain in the original game. Taking my force and attacking from the tress in a surprise maneuver just had me my teenager mind lost in a sea of tactics and battles. From that point it was nights spent avoiding homework going "just one more turn" as my armies marches across the classical world. There was something to a game that balanced a great real time war scenario with a simple yet fun turn based system that had you stuck once you started. Years went by, and more Total War games came out, but slowly they just stopped being the Total War games I loved. Looking at them I loved certain parts but the dark era of gunpowder nev...

Sins of a Solar Empire

Yep, the game I looked so forward to is finally out and its a massive...(in anticipation I decide to keep you waiting) amazing. This has been a game to wait for this year, and should win itself a few awards. From massive epic scale battles to easy but interesting empire management, the game is a killer. You start with one planet, but have the option of conquering solar systems of up to about 20 planets and even to a galaxy which can hold 5 solar systems. This means massive empires but no worries on to much micro management, the game has a simple yet still fun way of managing you empire from a side bar which shows all planets and everything inside them. With such a large area to make you empire and for it to keep fun this game will suck away all your free time. It being an rts you will find a hard time to find a place to stop. Trust me, I will try to play this game for only an hour and then 4 hours later and probably some sort of social event gone by, I am still playing and conquering ...

A new Sheriff in town

Hey Folks, won't even go into how long it has been but as tradition, a new gaming machine means a new blog post. Normally I would post if I had upgraded my main computer with something amazing. However my old 2010 iMac is still a beast so I have yet to need to do anything with it. In the mean time Macbook Air and a Macbook Pro have done well to fill any other voids I might have. This being said today I got probably the first time, a fully operational gaming machine. It is not like a  typical gaming machine however. I don't have a huge case, or 2 GPU with i7 whatever in it. Instead i got an Alienware Alpha. This thing takes up less space then a Xbox, or PS4 yet punches even harder. It has a 2 GB Nvidia card in it paired with 8 GB of Ram, and a 250 SSD. It only has a i3 processor but this is a machine meant for games. It is not meant to destroy frame rates, or edit movies however compared to the 2010 1 GB ATI card in my iMac it can beat the pants off of it for sure. I have yet ...
