Yep, the game I looked so forward to is finally out and its a massive...(in anticipation I decide to keep you waiting) amazing. This has been a game to wait for this year, and should win itself a few awards. From massive epic scale battles to easy but interesting empire management, the game is a killer.
You start with one planet, but have the option of conquering solar systems of up to about 20 planets and even to a galaxy which can hold 5 solar systems. This means massive empires but no worries on to much micro management, the game has a simple yet still fun way of managing you empire from a side bar which shows all planets and everything inside them.
With such a large area to make you empire and for it to keep fun this game will suck away all your free time. It being an rts you will find a hard time to find a place to stop. Trust me, I will try to play this game for only an hour and then 4 hours later and probably some sort of social event gone by, I am still playing and conquering galaxys.
The game does boaster a pretty nice graphic set but its nothing to amazing. Up close on high it looks like homeworld 2 ships, which isn't bad when you can have up to and probably over 500 units on just your side on the screen. It also has an very impressive zoom system where when fully zoomed out you can see the solar systems but no detail and when fully zoomed you can see the windows on one of the smallest spaceships
The only real problem I have with the game is it can be almost to slow at times, which isn't bad but games if at max players and biggest map can take over days but thats why the put in the multilayer save system. The map is even if units can move 3D, its not player controlled. There is also no single player campaign which in the bigger picture doesn't mean a whole lot but the intro movie sets one up so well, it just screams for one.
Sins of the Solar empire is better than heroin, so if you get it, be prepared to have no social life but lots of fun building a interstellar empire.
