Ya, so my gaming spirit has come to me, and right around exam time. perfect. As bad as this new craze has been for my studying, it has made me want to update this long forgotten blog. Don't worry I have been thinking of you, though I did try something new with Tumbr. I still like Blogspot better, just simpler and I think a more professional look.
Now on to my new post. This gaming craze came from a conversation I had with a roommate over which game could be called art. Eventually the one game we could 100% say is art was Half-Life and more specifically Half-Life 2. Feeling a need to play the old beast again, I loaded up Steam. By the way I know Steam has many criticism but man is it cool to load it up then install a game quickly and simply. Steampower! Yep never going to say that again.
Well I didn't want to head long into Half-Life 2 and instead went from Half-Life, to Opposing force and so on. Right now I just beat Episode 1 which may not be the best content but its short and sweet. After playing so much Half-Life I must say it is art. Specially after hearing audio commentary. The effort that goes into that game is astounding. I mean the sheer number of ideas and concepts that go behind just a simple scene will blow you away. If you have not gone through the games without listening to it, trust me you will enjoy it. The best is when you figure out certain key games situations are created with such detail you really start to appreciate the game much more.
I am onto Episode 2 next, which will go twice. Twice! I know crazy but I want to play it without commentary then with so shut up.
Oh and fun news! After reading Living in Oblivion I want to something on the same lines. No idea if life will actually let me waste enough of it doing it but here's hoping. Stay tuned as this will pop into existence in the next few weeks, months, years? No idea what I plan on doing it on, or how but if anyone has suggestions comment on them as I have forgotten my email address for this website. Sorry it's been a long time.

P.S. I will dust tomorrow I swear, get off my back
